How to Translate Candidate CVs for International Clients Without Losing Formatting

CV being translated from Dutch to English with one click

We’ve all had those moments where a great candidate is almost placeable, but there’s just one annoying blocker.

Maybe their CV is in Dutch, but the hiring manager only speaks English. Maybe they have incredible experience, but they’ve written about it in the driest, most boring way possible. Maybe they sent a new CV. You realize they're already in your database from three years ago. You have to manually find what's new. Then you copy-paste it over.

I wanted to fix those specific frustrations. So, we’ve pushed a few updates to Tlntly that handle them for you.

Here’s what’s new.

1. Translate CVs with one click

This feature request came directly from one of our users, thanks Tim Riensema! It happens in our line of work. You have a great candidate, and the resume stands out. However your client want to recieve the Resume in Dutch. No worries, now you can translate it with a single click.

Instead of manually translating bullet points or using a clunky external tool that messes up the formatting, you can now just hit Translate inside Tlntly.

It currently supports switching between English and Dutch. It doesn't just swap words word-for-word; it rewrites the role descriptions and skills into professional business language while keeping the formatting exactly how you want it.

If you prefer to trust-but-verify, you can also choose "Manual Translation" to create a copy that you can edit yourself.

2. The "Rewrite" Button (Make them sound better)

Some candidates are great at their jobs but terrible at writing about them. You’ll see a Senior Developer with 10 years of experience describe a massive project as: "Worked on the backend."

That doesn't sell.

We’ve added a Magic Wand icon to every text box. Click it, and Tlntly will rewrite that section to be clearer and punchier.

But here’s the cool part: you can tell it how to rewrite it.

  • Need them to sound more Confident? Done.
  • Want to turn a wall of text into Bullet Points? Easy.
  • Need to focus specifically on Achievements? Just select it.

It’s a huge time-saver for polishing up those profiles that need a little extra love before they go to a client.

3. Tell the AI what you want

We’ve also added Custom Instructions to our tailoring features.

If you’re creating a tailored CV for a specific job, you don’t just have to hope the AI guesses right. You can now give it a nudge. You can say things like:

  • "Focus heavily on their leadership experience."
  • "Highlight their React Native skills specifically."

You can even set these as defaults in your profile settings, so if you always want CVs formatted a certain way, Tlntly will remember that for next time.

These updates are live now. Give them a try.
